I am a caffeine fiend! Tea or coffee, I lap it up with much gusto. Now, this time of the year, my love for toffee nut lattes reaches borderline unhealthy levels. But let’s be real—I’m so over that famed green mermaid (for reasons we won’t get into), and in serious need of a festive caffeine fix with a bit more personality.
So, I went on the hunt—and here are my recommendations this year, modest but absolutely deelish, plus with some picks available all year round:
1. Symmetry Cafe
This Aussie cafe located in Bugis is one of my favourite cafes in Singapore for its chill vibes and good coffee. Come Christmas, I love heading over for their festive offering, a luxurious peppermint mocha that’s served in a mug shaped like Christmas tree with googly eyes too, topped with a generous heaping of cream and sprinkles.
What to order: Christmas coffee, a seasonal offering during the Christmas period, typically around the last week of November. Check their Facebook page for updates
Where: Symmetry, 9 Jalan Kubor, Singapore 199206
2. Mad Roaster
I adore Mad Roaster—not just for their quality coffee and toast, but because they support refugee communities through partnerships with NGOs like Habibi International and People Serving People. Each product features a unique logo hand-coloured by a refugee artist, and your purchase directly supports them. Plus, they share these artists’ stories on their cups, making every sip feel super meaningful. This season, I’m all in for their pumpkin spice lattes, stuffed cookies, and babkas. Support with a side of heart—what’s not to love? It’s only here for a season, but you might also like to try their honey butter lattes too.
What to order: Pumpkin spice latte, pair with their matcha stuffed black seasame cookie
Where: Mad Roaster, outlets in Depot Road, Amoy Street Food Centre, National Heart Centre and more.
3. Wild Honey
I have loved Wild Honey since its advent. Breakfast anytime from practically anywhere? SOLD. Their festive offering this year comes with a bit of booze, so go easy! I had a sip of their eggnog latte and can personally confirm it will set you in that good yuletide cheer. Hic hic!
What to order: Eggnog latte
Where: Wild Honey, two outlets in Mandarin Gallery and Bugis
4. Craftsman Coffee
We’ve talked about seasonal delights, how about a novelty coffee that can remind you of Christmas all year round? At the very least, to me anyway. For sometime this year, I was obsessed with Craftsman Coffee’s iced roasted almond latte. There’s something delightfully festive about the flavour of this, but you’ve got to have it iced and be sure to mix your drink thoroughly.
What to order: Iced roasted almond latte
Where: Craftsman Coffee, six outlets in Singapore
5. Gastronomia
Another one for if you have the yen for festive flavours outside of the festive season. Gastronomia’s mint mocha and orange mocha is sure to hit the spot.
What to order: Iced mint mocha or blue orange mocha
Where: Gastronomia, seven outlets all over the island
Things to note:
These days, I enjoy nursing my coffee at cafes with a good book, eschewing take away cups, but if you’re getting your cuppa to go, be sure to be sensible about waste.
